I came up with this recipe, not as a dessert, but because I wanted combine ALL the supplements and superfoods I want to consume into ONE delicious treat. There are numerous foods with different nutritional benefits. Remembering to include them all into our diet every single day can get challenging. With these bliss balls that task becomes easier. All you need to do is eat one a day. These are grain-free, guilt-free and packed with wholesome ingredients.

Recipe

All-In-One Bliss Balls

(Makes 18 bliss balls)

Ingredients

1/4 cup sesame seeds, lightly toasted
1/4 cup flaxseeds, lightly toasted
1/4 cup almonds, lightly toasted
1/4 cup walnuts, lightly toasted
1/4 cup Brazil nuts
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 tbsp raw cacao nibs
2 tbsp maca powder (you can substitute this with ashwagandha powder if you like)
1/4 cup protein powder (I used Protinex Lite)
1/4 cup collagen peptides (I used Vital Proteins collagen peptides)
2 tbsp unsweetened dark cocoa powder
1 tsp pterostilbene powder (optional - you can add any antioxidant powder instead)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Generous pinch of salt
4 Medjool dates, pitted (add 2 more if you prefer the bliss balls sweeter)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp water

Method

In a high powered blender, grind the first seven ingredients separately until finely powdered, then combine them in a bowl. Add the maca, protein, collagen, cocoa, pterostilbene and cinnamon powders. Add the salt and mix well.

Blend the dates and vanilla together. Add the powdered mix and pulse until everything starts to come together.

Add the water, 1 tbsp at a time, and pulse again until the mixture can its hold shape when rolled into a ball (the quantity of water will vary slightly depending upon the number of dates used).

Transfer the bliss ball mixture to a bowl, cover and refrigerate until firm. Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls and coat them with cocoa powder or crushed nuts.

Store refrigerated in an airtight container and consume one daily.
