Homemade Fruit Gummies

The inspiration for these healthy treats came from the enviably fit, utterly charming and very dapper @mrkhanna (yes, ladies, do swoon!). I was super impressed by the green juice gummy bears he shared on his Instagram stories a few days ago. I’ve always wanted to try making a refined sugar-free version of fruit gummies at home. Not only was the above mentioned gentleman kind enough to share his recipe, but the jamun (black plum) flavored gummy bears were also his idea. I made them in two delicious flavors: Mango-cardamom and Jamun-lime. Popping them out of the molds was such fun. They tasted just like real fruit. The teen said they were yummy and I agree. Thank you, @mrkhanna, for all your help.

Recipe

Homemade Fruit Gummies

For each batch of gummies, I bloomed 4 tablespoons of gelatin in 3/4 cup of (strained) fruit purée.

I then added 1/4 cup of hot water and whisked the mixture over low heat until the gelatin was completely dissolved.

Next, I stirred in the juice of 1 lime (also ground cardamom for the mango gummies) along with honey to taste and strained the mixture once more.

I spooned it into silicone molds and refrigerated them for a couple of hours until the gummies were well set.

These fruit gummies even made it into the local newpaper! :D
