Oat Milk Hot Chocolate

More oats lovin’... this time in the form of some velvety hot chocolate made with oat milk. Not just delicious, but thick, satisfying and also easy to make (the recurring theme in my recipes, in case you haven’t guessed by now).

Recipe

Oat Milk Hot Chocolate

Rinse and blend 1/2 cup rolled oats with 1 1/2 cups filtered water in a high speed blender until the oats are finely ground.

Strain through a cheesecloth/nut milk bag and add the oat milk to a saucepan along with 1 tbsp unsweetened dark cocoa, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

Whisk over medium heat until the mixture starts to thicken (take this a little further and you’ll have yourself a dairy-free chocolate sauce).

Add in 1/4 cup of any milk of your choice (I used coconut milk) and whisk until heated through.

Remove from heat, add a sweetener of your choice to taste and serve warm.
